Connecting and disconnecting inboxes

Your inboxes are where your rewards live. Connecting one lets Majir find the value already waiting there.

How to connect an inbox

You connect Gmail or Outlook through the provider's own sign-in. This is called OAuth, which means you log in on Google's or Microsoft's page, not inside Majir, and you grant access there. Majir requests read-only access, so it can read email to find offers but cannot send, delete, or move anything.

To connect, open Manage inboxes in the app and choose Gmail or Outlook. Follow the provider's sign-in screen and approve read-only access. Majir starts scanning once you are connected.

Using more than one inbox

You can connect more than one inbox. If your rewards are spread across a personal Gmail and a separate Outlook account, connect both. Offers from all connected inboxes flow into the same wallet.

The needs-reconnect state

Sometimes a provider stops honoring the connection. This can happen after you change your password, revoke access, or leave the account inactive for a while. When that happens, the inbox needs a reconnect and scanning pauses for it.

If this happens, Majir sends you an email nudge. To fix it, open the app, go to the inbox, and reconnect. Reconnecting restores access and scanning picks back up.

How to disconnect

You can disconnect two ways.

  • In the app: open Manage inboxes and disconnect the inbox.
  • From your provider: sign in to your Google or Microsoft account security settings and revoke Majir's access. You can do this at any time, without opening Majir.

What happens to your data

Disconnecting an inbox stops Majir from scanning it going forward. Offers Majir already found stay in your wallet. If you want to remove your data entirely, delete your Majir account in the app. Deleting your account removes your offers and your inbox connections.
